Comprehensive Smile Rehabilitation for Severe Wear and Erosion

Procedure(s):

Placed crowns on teeth #4–11 and used composite buildups on the occlusal surfaces of all posterior teeth (without crowns) to restore proper bite alignment

Description:

Grant came to our office with severe wear and erosion on his front teeth, which had significantly affected both the function and esthetics of his smile.

To restore proper form and function, Dr. Lane developed a comprehensive treatment plan. The case began with crown lengthening performed by a trusted local periodontist to contour and reshape the gumline. Next, Dr. Lane carefully opened the bite using composite buildups and completed the restoration with custom crowns on his front eight teeth.

This multi-step approach not only enhanced the appearance of Grant’s smile but also improved bite stability and long-term oral health.

Dr. James ‘Jim Ed’ Lane

From an early age, Dr. Lane knew he wanted to work in the health field. Inspired by his dad, who was a vet, and his mom, who was a nurse and great caretaker, he appreciated the value of helping people in a career path. He also enjoyed going to the dentist and orthodontist growing up, and they always seemed happy with their career choice. As he narrowed his own career options, dentistry just seemed to be the best fit for him.
