Protecting Worn Teeth and Restoring a Strong, Balanced Smile
Procedure(s):
Description:
This patient came to us with a history of clenching and noticeable wear along the front surfaces of his teeth, especially near the gumline. Over time, abfraction lesions had developed—small, wedge-shaped areas of enamel loss caused by excessive stress and pressure. The wear was progressing steadily, and many of these areas had been previously repaired with composite bonding.
To preserve the remaining tooth structure and provide long-term protection, Dr. Lane placed crowns on the patient’s upper arch. The treatment not only strengthened the teeth but also created a more cohesive, healthy-looking smile that offers durability and peace of mind moving forward.

Dr. James ‘Jim Ed’ Lane
From an early age, Dr. Lane knew he wanted to work in the health field. Inspired by his dad, who was a vet, and his mom, who was a nurse and great caretaker, he appreciated the value of helping people in a career path. He also enjoyed going to the dentist and orthodontist growing up, and they always seemed happy with their career choice. As he narrowed his own career options, dentistry just seemed to be the best fit for him.
